To lose weight, eat more times per day, but smaller portions

One of many things you can do to lose weight is spread your meals throughout per day, and make them smaller. Eat a small meal every couple of hours, while drinking copious amounts of water all throughout the day.

That will result in your body's metabolism rate speeding up (or rather, being normal and not slowing down, which is what happens when you eat only two or three "big" meals per day) and you burning calories faster.

Also, if you don't eat every 2-3 hours, your body will think you're about to starve (see, it's been genetically conditioned to do that.. since our ancestors ate like all other predators - once or twice a day, because they never knew when the next meal would be available) and make sure to put some fat away in your body "for a rainy day."

If you want to lose weight, make sure your body never thinks that :-)
