When you order wine in a restaurant, and you don't know anything on the wine list, the worst possible choice you can make is to get the second cheapest wine.
The reason for that is it's statistically proven most people go for that, since they don't want to appear cheap and get the least expensive. So, restaurants know that and put their worst stuff in the second cheapest spot.
You're much better off getting the cheapest, or if you can afford it, something in the middle of the price range.
